FAQs

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about our emerging growth fund, Antler Elevate.

At what stage does Antler Elevate invest, and what is its mission?

We aim to be a long-term partner for the founders we work with, supporting our portfolio with capital, talent, mentorship, and network—from day zero to exit. Antler Elevate represents a natural progression for Antler as our portfolio expands. It enables us to offer continued support throughout the growth journey of exciting companies globally, extending our support beyond the Seed stage up to Series C. Fast-growing businesses require significant capital, and having a committed partner like Antler is instrumental in financing their ongoing growth.

Who is the team behind Antler Elevate?

The team's deep vertical and operating expertise can help founders along their growth trajectory. Partner Martell Hardenberg exited Lazada to Alibaba and has grown the company from Pre-seed to unicorn status, which makes him an excellent sparring partner for fast-growing startups: Lazada, Southeast Asia’s largest e-commerce player, sold to Alibaba Group in 2016, the Group's largest transaction outside of China. Teddy Himler, previously VP at SoftBank and Principal at Comcast, has expertise in growth-stage investments with a focus on digital media, gaming, e-commerce, cloud computing, and mobility. Fady Abdel-Nour was the Global Head of M&A and investments at PayU, the payments and fintech arm of Prosus, a global technology-focused investment group known for its early investment into Tencent. The team taps into this wide knowledge base to offer strategic guidance to portfolio companies, elevating their prospects for success.

What does Antler Elevate’s investment process look like?

Antler Elevate actively invests in portfolio companies sourced from our early-stage funds, spanning 20 diverse technology ecosystems. In addition, we selectively consider category leaders who currently operate outside Antler's portfolio. Typically, Elevate invests at the Series A stage in rounds of $3-10M USD and may lead or co-lead investments. We look for founders with similar qualities consistent across all stages we invest in—including people with a mindset geared towards achieving product-market fit and demonstrating compounding growth. A sizable majority of Antler portfolio companies successfully secure funding after working with us.
