Antler

The investor backing the world's most driven founders, from day zero to greatness. Enabling thousands of founders every year to launch and scale companies that move the world forward.

Day zero. The very beginning of a founder’s journey. No roaring crowd, no markers guiding your path to the finish line. Just you, your ambition, and your belief that you can and will build something great.

Day zero is steeped in uncertainty. But when nothing is certain, everything is possible. And that’s what we are committed to helping founders pursue and make real—the possible.

Everyone has their own motive for stepping into the unknown and becoming a founder. To break free from the constraints of a conventional career. To solve a problem that’s deeply personal to you. To build a company that addresses a big problem or opportunity and, in the process, improves the lives of people everywhere. To be in charge of your own destiny. Whatever the reason, Antler is committed to helping exceptional founders move the world forward.

Today we are sharing our new brand that reflects that commitment and the reason Antler exists: to stand behind our founders from day zero and to keep backing them on their paths to greatness.

We’ve coined a new term to capture this: day zero investing. It means supporting founders from the very beginning—whether it’s pre-team or even pre-idea—and continuing to invest in them for the long term. Unlike traditional venture capital firms, accelerators, or incubators, we are there for founders even before a company is founded or a team is formed. And we are still there after we make our first investment, as a long-term partner providing advice, introductions, resources, and follow-on funding.

Every step of the way, we put founders first because—above all things—we invest in people. By focusing on the qualities that make great founders, we help thousands of driven, ambitious, and resilient people launch and scale companies that create jobs, contribute to GDP, and drive technology development and adoption.

As the world presents an ever-increasing number of opportunities and challenges,  founders are more needed than ever to address them. By taking the brave leap to build, you are the engine that moves the world forward. It’s an honor to partner with you.

Seven ways founders can prioritize mental well-being as they build

Founders are the life force of the startup ecosystem. They give their all, betting on their seemingly “crazy” convictions and executing on abstract ideas that can potentially make our lives and work easier, faster, healthier, and better optimized.

But sometimes they do this to the detriment of their health. Being a founder means being beholden to customers, employees, and investors while balancing personal life. Often founders trade their stable, well-paying jobs to prioritize the restless inquisitivity of their mind. In the quest to answer the question “what if?”, they sometimes sacrifice their mental and physical health, only realizing the effects on their state of mind once they have impacted their ability to function as a leader. We have also seen how the mental pressure on founders can cause distress to those who depend on them for their livelihood and direction.
