Every battery, wind turbine and electric car starts life in the ground, as lithium, nickel, cobalt or copper that someone first had to find. And finding it is still largely guesswork with a drill. A single campaign can cost millions of dollars and take months, and much of the most promising terrain on Earth is too remote or too harsh to reach at all.
Vivek spent a decade teaching robots to find their own way across extreme terrain, on autonomous exploration projects with NASA, the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency. Pradyumna spent ten years taking space and robotics technology out of the lab and into the market, as a founding member of three robotics startups. Together they asked a simple question. If we can send robots to explore other worlds, why are we still drilling blind on this one?

Uncharted's robots go where people can't, sense what lies beneath the surface, and map it in 3D with AI. Large global mining companies in Australia and India are already paying for pilots, and the team won the Future Minerals Pioneers programme against 70 finalists from around the world. This is bobotics built to explore other planets, brought home to find the minerals the energy transition depends on. Faster, cheaper and far gentler on the land.
